Having completed the award winning SoSPA at Sofitel St James, Sparcstudio were appointed to transform the conference & banqueting facilities at the 5 star hotel.
Occupying an area of around 1228 sqm covering the entire lower ground floor, the brief was to create a glamorous stylish environment which could cater for anything from a lavish banquet/party, a discreet board-meeting or creative meeting away from the office.
The new entrance scheme has a black marble floor and digital welcome screen surrounded by luminous back-lit white gold onyx panelling. A walnut lined staircase sweeps down from the to the lower level where there is a large lobby space which doubles as a greeting/arrival zone or space for a party or launch.
Bespoke designed joinery runs throughout the scheme, including glowing glass ‘bookcases’ which form innovative vertical buffet shelving for the display of canopies and cocktails, conference tables formed from Olive ash with uplit central glowing panels of white gold onyx, and refreshment points with edge lit glass over-panels and leather panelling.
Entrances to the Event rooms and Boardrooms are also surrounded by glowing white gold onyx panelling complete with digital welcome screens.
Sparcstudio also designed the sophisticated lighting scheme, including architectural lighting to all of the areas controlled by ‘Crestron’ lighting controls; and huge bespoke fibre-optic chandelier fittings that form the focus of the function spaces. Natural daylight has been introduced into the meeting spaces wherever possible; the deep windows reveals have been lined in walnut and include a leather clad window seat.
Bespoke designed furniture and Sofas and specially designed chairs are covered in rich jewel-like mohair velvets.
